It couldnt even translate happy birthday from English to Spanish .

Excellent translations to and from Japanese...which is very difficult to do!

First rate product, it really is. 2nd review reflects the new version.

The principle is great, but there are some bugs. Sometimes it misses completely, at least from English or French to German. One example: I know enough German to know that "I forgot my umbrella " does not translate to "ich habe meinen regenschirm" (which means "I have my umbrella"). This seems to happen quite a bit lately.

It worked for a short while then it wouldnt work at all. Using it on an older iPhone 4. May have to upgrade the phone to get the newer OS for this app to function properly.

I have my thoughts about how this app translates: I know enough of French (Canadian) to know the translations arent 100% accurate. It might be there are more issues. It really helps if you know the other language but then why would I have this app? A little support when you arent sure.

I think that,once understood the way the program works, the translator is an excellent tool to use. The translation of complex phrases is excellent. Five stars
